Maija Bergström – with a passion for urban issues

Maija Bergström is a social psychologist with an interest to practical applications, research and bettering the world.

Urban issues are her passion, followed with an interest to an environmentally and socially sustainable society.

The broad range of her working experience and studies have supported forming a wide perspective on societal matters.

“I give my time for voluntary work with youth and children and enjoy working with new people. I’m always curious for new ideas, innovations, places and follow topics related to urbanism, design and service design, placemaking and ways for a more creative working life.”

In Smart Kalasatama, Maija is working as a project coordinator. She develops methods for user and citizen participation and arranges tons of events, visits and workshops.

“I also scout free and under used rooms, saunas, event spaces for Joustotilat project that aims at bringing a variety of spaces to a public reservation service.”
