and how to turn scarce materials dependency into viable business?
29 August 2012, 12-6 pm, Finlandia-talo, Terrace Hall, ground floor, Mannerheimintie 13, Helsinki
Sufficiency and sustainable use of minerals is a future challenge that strongly influences industries in Finland, EU and globally. By taking this challenge the Finnish trade can become a frontrunner in the growing Cleantech sector, which at the same time needs to adapt to changes in the operational environment.
VTT is hosting this seminar to discuss criticality of raw materials, new business opportunities arising from their sustainable use, and the role of ecodesign and zero waste production in a future society of limited resources.
Inspiring speakers include representatives from companies such as Nokia Oyj, Raw Materials Group, Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy and Umicore together with representatives from politics and research organisations. An interesting designer’s perspective will be given by Stefan Lindfors.
Registration begins at 11:30 with coffee and light lunch.
Opening of the seminar at 12:00
We welcome you to join the seminar and discussion in Helsinki and to continue the dialogue over cocktails at 16:40!
